Isabella Agnes Shaw Fisher was born August 28, 1924 in Oyen, Alberta, Canada. Isabella passed from this life on February 13, 2022 at the Sunrise of Overland Park, a senior living community in Overland Park, Kansas with her children at her side.
Isabella joins her faithful companion -- Kenneth George Fisher -- who preceded her on February 14, 2008. Isabella is survived by her four children Jeanne Mann and her husband Greg of Overland Park, Ks, Orval Fisher and his wife Susan of Blue Springs, Mo., June Johnson and her husband Brad of Olathe, Kansas and Fred Fisher and his wife LuAnn of Garden City, Kansas.
Born to Ignatius and Stella McLean Shaw. Isabella was one of seven sisters and is survived by one sister – Elva Soderquist -- of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. She leaves nine grandchildren, twenty great-children and the many children she professionally cared for over the years who will forever remember her as “mama belle”. Their lives and their achievements stand as a legacy of her love, her support and her devotion for each of them.
Isabella was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ and served it unceasingly in so many capacities and in so many places. She found joy in her work and dignity in serving others. She was the soul of some….the inspiration for many…and the friend of all. She had a faith that was unbendable – and a spirit that was tireless.
A Celebration of her life will be held at Community of Christ Woods Chapel Congregation, Independence, Missouri on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 3:00PM (500 NE Woods Chapel Road, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64064). Visitation with the family will immediately precede the serve from 1:00PM – 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of condolence be made to Outreach International – a world-wide, non-profit organization devoted to equipping and empowering communities to realize their full potential and dear to both Isabella and Ken-- at 112 W 18th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64108.
Private interment will be at Mound Grove Cemetery Independence, Missouri on Saturday, February 19, 2022.
