Marvin Lynn Fitzgerel
Marvin Lynn Fitzgerel, 70, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022. A visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 2pm. Both will take place at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Marvin will be laid to rest in Brooking Cemetery, Raytown, MO. Burial to follow service.
Marvin was born in Warrensburg, MO on January 2, 1952. The son of Murvin and Wilma (Sammons) Fitzgerel. Marvin attended and graduated from William Chrisman High School class of 1970. He was a long-time grocery store worker and produce manager at Balls Foods for over 20 years before retiring in 2008. In 1975 Marvin married his best friend and love of his life, Mary Kay Ursery, and from their union came two beautiful daughters. Marvin loved reading and classic cars but most of all he loved and adored his family. Marvin was very involved in church; he served as a deacon and in Sunday School throughout his life. Marvin loved being Paw-Paw to his grandsons. Those who knew Marvin well remember him as quite the jokester. He was a wonderful man with such a kind heart and will be dearly and deeply missed.
Marvin is survived by his daughter, Angela (Lynn) Tarvin; grandsons, Luke and Alex Tarvin; siblings, Joyce Quick-Hoff, William Fitzgerel, Kenneth (Jane) Fitzgerel. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Kay Fitzgerel; a beautiful daughter, Allison Broski; and his parents Murvin and Wilma Fitzgerel.
In lieu of flowers family suggest contributions be made to Oakwood Baptist Church, Children’s Ministry.
