Mary Fitzmaurice

Mary Margaret Fitzmaurice, 75, of Independence, MO passed away, Friday, July 20, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 6:00 p.m., Monday evening followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m., at the chapel. Mary was born November 8, 1931 in Bassett, KS. She was devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She leaves behind; her mother, Bertha Ornelas, age 92; a brother, Jessie Ornelas, a step brother, Danny Soza; 4 sons, Michael Rios of Virginia Beach, VA, Felix, Jr., of Kansas city, MO, Thomas Mora of Independence, MO and Steven Mora of Grain Valley, MO; 6 daughters, Nancy Rios of Harrisonville, MO, Sandra Curry of Peoria, IL, Eva Best of Grain Valley, MO, Cynthia Hammond of Independence, MO, Melissa Williams of Independence, MO, Melinda Fitzmaurice of Independence, MO; 27 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren as well as a host of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Fitzmaurice, a brother David Ornelas and her daughter, Cathy McGee of New Orleans, LA.
