Ressa Ann Flaig (Ferguson)

Ressa Ann Flaig (Ferguson) 76 completed her earthly journey peacefully at home on June 14, 2021. Ressa was born on May 20,1945 in Lexington, Missouri. She graduated from Fort Osage Highschool in May of 1963. She married to her lifelong love, Chris Flaig, on April 5,1968, they went on to raise three children Kristy, Lori, and Scot and were blessed with 6 grandchildren. Ressa loved her family and friends fiercely and enjoyed their company most of all. She loved watching her kids and grandkids in any activity of their choosing and was so proud of them. Ressa retired from GEHA in 2010. She made numerous lifelong friends at GEHA who she has kept in touch with over the years. In retirement Ressa enjoyed cruising with friends Billy and Vicky Fisher and family. She also enjoyed quilting, shopping, and holidays, but most of all she spoiled her grandchildren whenever she had the chance. She was preceded in death by her parents Bessy and James Ferguson and sister Janet (Smith). She is survived by her husband Chris, children Kristy (John) Gatti, Lori (Scott) Dorman, Scot (Shannon) Flaig and grandchildren, Jack and Mia Gatti, Olivia and Bailey Dorman, and Sydnei and Ava Flaig her siblings Penny Eubanks, Kathy Duren, and Jamie Ferguson. The number of extended friends and family who will miss her are too great to number, in particular Alice and John Moroso, Carolyn Hyer, and her high school friend Sharon Boyd. She was a blessing to everyone she knew. She will be laid to rest on June 18. Visitation is from 9:00-10:30am and funeral will begin at 10:30am at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. A private family graveside committal will follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Ressa. Click here
