Paul “Gene” Flanegin, 81 of Independence went to be with the Lord on Fri. Jun 22, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 11:00 am, Wed. Jun 27, 2007 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Indep. MO, with the visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Flanegin was born on Jul 6, 1925 to Paul & Eileen (McCall) in Sioux City, IA. He had work for Amoco for thirteen years and then for the Bayer Corporation for 31 years, retiring in 1993. Gene was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed shooting 22’s, fishing, doing woodworking and woodcarvings. He especially loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Pioneer Gun Club, Mt. Washington Masonic Lodge 614. Royal Arch 142 and the Eastern Star, 423. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and received the Victory Medal. Gene was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Jane Flanegin in 1997, a granddaughter, Nancy Michelle Morasch on Jun. 6, 2007 and his brother, Don in 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy “Judy” Beebe and husband David of Independence, MO. Two grandchildren, Shawn David Beebe and wife Lorraine and Lorie Ledbetter and husband Rhon. Six great grandchildren, Caeleb, Maegan, Daniel, Alex, Joshua and Sarah.
