On the evening of November 15, 2020, with family by his side, George Edward Fleming, age 83, passed away peacefully as a ray of sun beamed on him alone to guide him home to eternal life with his Father in heaven.
George Edward Fleming was born on December 7, 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mildred Fleming (Caswell) and Roswell Edgar Fleming. George did not know a stranger and his big heart brought great joy to all the lives he touched. After his graduation from William Chrisman High School in 1954, he attended college and worked part-time for Speaks Funeral Home. He continued to serve his community by working for Speaks for fifty years.
He also worked in the insurance industry for forty years serving and ultimately retiring as the VP of Marsh and McLennan. George also served in the United States Army Reserve during the Korean conflict. But George's real passion was his love for his wife Paddy Fleming (Davolt) and two children- daughter, Lisa Gaye Washburn (Fleming) and son, Michael P Fleming.
George was an active member of Waldo Baptist Church where he was the "go to man" for any situation that would arise and then Country Meadows Baptist Church his remaining years for a total of forty years service to both churches.
George is survived by his loving wife, Paddy, son, Michael, daughter in law Jennifer Fleming, granddaughter Ashley Washburn and great granddaughter Ava Renee Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Lisa Washburn, one sister, four brothers and his parents Mildred and Roswell.
