Marion Fleming (nee Blanch), 95, of Independence, MO, passed into God's arms after a brief illness Sunday, January 20, 2019. A visitation will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 from 1-2pm, followed by a service at 2pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave Independence, MO 64052. Burial will be private. Marion was born December 5, 1923 in Prospect Park, NJ to William R. and Corina (VanEeuween) Blanch. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Independence and 50+ year member of the VFW Post #1000 Women's Auxiliary, as well as active in many other organizations throughout her lifetime. Marion also enjoyed the many hours she spent volunteering at the Veteran’s Hospital. Marion had many friends and she and Raymond, her husband, traveled throughout the US, Europe, and Asia as well as wintering in Texas. She had a very full life! At 95, Marion loved to knit and crochet, and work word puzzles daily to keep her mind sharp. Her loving and kindness will be missed by all who knew her. Marion is survived by her husband of 75 years, Raymond Fleming; her son, Robert (Nancy) Fleming; and grandsons Alexander (Marcy) Fleming and Kenneth Fleming. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to VFW Post #1000 Auxiliary or The American Cancer Association, in Marion's name.
