Marie G. Fligg, 96, of Independence, MO passed away, Friday, November 9, 2007 at Rosewood Health Center. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1 to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at Carson-Speaks Chapel preceding the graveside services. Marie was born January 23, 1911 in Lamoni, IA to Willard and Anna Josephine Danielson Gaylord. She grew up in Lamoni and attended Graceland College and later attended State College of South Dakota before moving to the Kansas City area. She had worked for KCMO Broadcasting Company for 27 years before she retired in 1973. She was an active member and volunteer of the Community of Christ Stone Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was married to Myron A. Fligg in 1964; he preceded her in death in 1987. Survivors include; 2 sons, Michael G. Fligg and his wife Barbara of Marietta GA and William I. Fligg and his wife Judy of Oak Grove, MO; 5 grandchildren, John and Meg Fligg of Atlanta, GA, Alyson and Joel Cohen of California, Brent and Julie Fligg, Dawn and Chad Carnahan and Jaime McAhan all of Grain Valley, Mo and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother.
