Rebecca “Becky” Flood, 38, of Blue Springs, MO was called home Monday, July 23, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Sheffield Family Life Center 5700 Winner Rd, Kansas City, MO, 64127. The family will greet guests from 9-10:30am, prior to the celebration.
Becky was born on February 27, 1980 in Mora, MN to Steven and Cheryl (Keiry) Gilmore. She grew up with a strong faith which brought her family to Missouri in 1998. It was at Heartland Ministries in Northeast, MO where she met her future husband, Jason Flood. They married on January 19, 2002 and in 2008 were called to Kansas City to help plant a church. Their dedication paid off, taking them from meeting at a movie theater on Sunday mornings to what is now Epic Church. Becky loved children. Her pride and joy at the church was in children’s ministry. In her spare time she liked to cook, crochet, and care for children in their home. Her heart was full of love that she shared with many people.
Her light will shine on in the lives of her husband Jason and son Aiden Flood of Blue Springs, MO; parents Steven and Cheryl Gilmore of Nisland, SD; sister Carina Nance and husband David of Lamar, NE; brother John Gilmore and wife Jackie of Tyler, MN; sister Anna Bassett and husband Dana of Monroe City, MO; and sister Deborah Ritter and husband Cody of Bethel, MO; maternal grandmother Naida Keiry of Nisland, SD; nieces and nephews: David, Levi, Luke, Hayden, and Payton Nance; Dajza, Timothy, Anthony, and Caleb Gilmore; Reuben and Maleah Bassett; and Eli Ritter; plus several other extended family members and church family.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and her maternal grandfather.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to The Flood Memorial Fund at Epic Church.
