Shirley Flood, 78, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at home. A Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15th, at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St.; Independence. MO 64055. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, in the chapel. Burial at Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee’s Summit, MO. Shirley was born on March 30, 1934 in Kanarado, KS to Raymond and Esther (Ingram) Middleton. She worked for many years as a bus driver for Raytown School District, and always loved to go places. Shirley especially enjoyed spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Flood; parents; two brothers; and one grandson. Shirley is survived by sons, John Flood (Beth) and Eugene Flood (Sandy); daughters Dianne Kalahurka (Jim) and Marlene Bukaty (John); brother, Ted Middleton; sisters, Earlene Powell (Clyde) and Martha Hodges (Phil); six grandchildren, J.C. and Josh Kalahurka, Rose and Matt Bukaty, and Luke and Jenny Flood; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kody Kalahurka.
