David T. Floyd, 82, Independence, Mo. died Aug. 17, 2004. Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 at George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Assoc. David was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Newburg, AR. to Lindsey Lee and Maggie (Allen) Floyd. He was a contractor and retired after 38 years of painting. He was a member of the Maywood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Floyd in Jan., 2004 and two grandchildren. David is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Delta Dee & Jim Brummitt; Valree & Lowell Short; Charlotte & Ron Grubbs; all of Indep., MO; grandchildren Jim Golden & wife Pam; Lowell Gene Short II & wife Tina; Jill Reynolds, Tony Brummitt & wife Kristi, Karee Naudet & husband Steve; great-grandchildren Jamie & Jessie Golden; Kayli, Tyler & Stevee Naudet; Savannah Short; Sydney, Jared & Ethan Brummitt; two brothers; five sisters; and many nieces, nephews & friends.
