Floyd "Corky" Dickson was born in Sedalia, MO, age 92 of Independence MO, passed away peacefully on February 22nd, 2025, surrounded by his family. Corky served in the Marine Corp and was awarded a Purple Heart in the Korean War; he served his country proudly. Once he returned home, he married Ona Lou Nelson in 1956. They have two son's David and Ricky Dickson.


Corky was a happy soul and cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family very much. He and Ona spent most of their retired years traveling and going to all their great grandchildren's ball games and other school events.


Corky is preceded in death by his son, Ricky Dickson, parents, and a brother.


Corky is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ona Lou; his son, David Dickson; grandchildren, Denise (Jon) Dowhower, David (Christy) Dickson, Ben Dickson, Daniel (Nicole) Dickson; and five great grandchildren, Jonathan and Zachary Dowhower, Olivia and Carter Dickson, Collin Dickson; brothers Gene (Penny) Dickson, Glen (Janet) Dickson; sisters, Joyce Kaiser and Carol (Dick) Klein; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.


Cremation burial is planned with a private ceremony to be held at a later date.
