Joyce Floyd

Joyce Floyd, 79 of Independence, MO passed away Thu, Jan 29, 2004 at the Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 2:00 pm, Mon. Feb. 2, 2004 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Service. Mrs. Floyd was born on May 2, 1924 in Newburg, AR to George and Adeline Blankenship and has lived in this area most of her life. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Floyd was a member of Maywood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and two grandchildren, Bobby Gene Short and Billie Jo Short. She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, David T. Floyd. Three daughters and their husbands, Delta Dee and Jim Brummitt, Valree and Lowell Short and Charlotte and Ron Grubbs, all of Independence, MO. Her twin sister, Loyce Floyd of Melbourne, AR and a sister, Lela Durham of Oak Grove, MO. Five grandchildren, Jim Golden and wife, Pam, Lowell Gene Short II and wife Tina, Tony Brummitt and wife Kristi, Karee Naudet and husband Steve and Jill Reynolds. Eight great grandchildren, Jamie and Jessica Golden, Kayli, Tyler and Stevee Naudet, Sydney, Jared and Ethan Brummitt. And by many nieces, nephews and friends.
