Martha Thelma Folkert

Martha Thelma Folkert, 93 of Independence, MO passed away July 31, 2003 at Wilshire at Lakewood, Lee�s Summit, MO. Services 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2003 at George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home with visitation from 6-8:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to Mount Washington Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association. She was a member of Mount Washington Baptist Church for 53 years. She retired from Independence Sanitarium in November 1974. Mrs. Folkert was born November 28, 1909 in Oak Grove, MO to Frank and Mabel Bratton. She was married to Homer Theodore Folkert on June 19, 1936 and he preceded her in death in June 1963. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Herbert Bratton and Robert Earl Bratton and one sister, Frances Mabel Smith. She is survived by four children, Margaret Wyrick, Independence, MO, Theodore & Jaleh Folkert, Rollings Hills, CA, Patricia & Chuck Bragg, Wilsall, MT and Richard Folkert, Raytown, MO,
one brother, Marshall E. Bratton, Grandview, MO, three sisters, Lucy Moore, North Kansas City, MO, Doris Baker, Camdenton, MO and Betty Pearl Henke, Raytown, MO, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
