Kenneth R. Follett, formerly of Independence, MO, enthusiast of everything related to airplanes, took his final flight on Monday, September 7, 2020. He was 75.
Ken made his on-time arrival on October 3, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY, the child of Robert George and Dorothy Elizabeth (Walker) Follett. He began his career as an airplane machinist with Allegheny Airlines in New York. Ken married Lora Lee Wood in December of 1972, and together, they have two children; Joseph Michael Follett and Tania Michele Follett.
After attending Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN from 1973-1974, they moved to Kansas City for Ken to take a new position with TWA until his on-time departure of retirement in 2003, when TWA was sold to American Airlines. An avid reader, Ken was fascinated with Native American culture and U.S. presidential history.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Tania. He leaves behind son, Joe and his wife, Ashley Follett; two grandchildren, Adelyn Michele Follett and Noel David Follett and his sister, Nancy.
A family graveside service will take place at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence.
