Jim Forcum, 62, of Independence, MO passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018. The family will greet guests from 6-8pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO, 64052. The funeral service will be at 10am on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the chapel.
Jim was born on February 21, 1955 in Kansas City, MO to James and Betty (Harryman) Forcum. He was a plumber, amateur fisherman, football fan (Chiefs or Cowboys), and a classic Western movie enthusiast. Jim really enjoyed family holiday gatherings and going on vacations. He loved his family more than anything and even challenged a bull to a fight in Mexico to earn the love of his wife, Brenda (Keaton) Forcum. They spent 20 years together traveling and making memories.
He will be missed dearly by his wife Brenda of the home; sons Michael Forcum (Jennifer), Nicholas Forcum (Jennifer); daughter Melissa Forcum; step-son Josh Greenway (Nichole); step-daughter Sarah Gordon (Joshua); mother Betty Forcum; brother William Forcum (Jeannie); and 12 grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his father James and sister Cathy.
