Mabel M. Foreman
Mabel M. Foreman, 98, of Independence died June 3, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Foreman will lie in state at Carson-Speaks Chapel on Sunday from 6-8 P.M. Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Cemetery. Mabel was born on April 6, 1908 in Linneus, Missouri the daughter of Lloyd and Cora Powell Couch. She was raised in the Brookfield area and attended school there. Mabel enjoyed her time with her family and loved to cook, bake and keep house. She was a caregiver to others and volunteered her time to assist those in need. She was a member of the Blue Ridge Baptist Church where she was the Sunday School Secretary and had been in the Choir and played the piano for the Sunday School. She and her husband enjoyed taking their family fishing in Minnesota. Mrs. Foreman worked for over 15 years as a Saleswoman for Hall�s. Mabel married Cyrus W. Foreman in Brookfield on April 27, 1926 and he predeceased her on July 19, 1979. She is survived by a daughter, Corrine Geabhart and her husband Neil of Independence, Mo., two grandsons, Stephen Geabhart and his wife Landra of Blue Springs, Mo. and Robert Geabhart and his wife Dianne of Memphis, TN. She is also survived by five great grandchildren; Blake Geabhart and his wife Haley of Memphis, TN., Jason Geabhart of Blue Springs, Mo., Michael Geabhart and wife Christy of Grain Valley, Mo., Sara Geabhart of Memphis, TN., and Gloria Geabhart of Blue Springs, Mo. and many dear nieces and nephews.
