William C. Forlow, 91 of Independence, MO passed away, Friday, May 12, 2006 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be at 7:30 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2006 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m., until service time Monday evening at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army. William was born April 28, 1915 in Independence, MO to William Duncan and Carrie Alberta (Elkington) Forlow. He had worked for a number of years as a manager of the Harriman Lumber Company until 1969 when he left to manage the Hicks-Brown Lumber Yard in Higginsville until his retirement. In retirement he became stockman and cattle breeder. He was a charter member of the Mt. Washington United Methodist Church. He was on the Advisory Board for the Salvation Army and was a distinguished service member of the Kiwanis Club. He was an Army veteran of WWII having served in Italy and Iran. He was married to Corrine (McBride). She precedes him in death. He is survived by a daughter, Doris Eleanor Gladwell of Independence, MO; a son, Ray Duncan Forlow of Bates City, MO; 4 grandchildren, Janet Marie Roberts, Kenneth Martin Forlow, John William Forlow and Michael Douglas Forlow; 7 great grandchildren, Alex C. Balmer, Christian J. Balmer, Jacob Sims Forlow, Corrine Elizabeth Forlow, Nathaniel Edward Forlow, Kyle Matthew Forlow and Hanah Michele Forlow. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Robert Bruce Forlow and Arthur William Forlow.
