Blue Springs

Forrest H. Harrell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, surrounded by family. He was born on April 9, 1933, in Plad, Missouri, son to Forrest R. and Essie (Barry) Harrell.

Forrest dedicated more than 30 years of his life as a truck driver and retired from Graham Truck Line. He proudly served as a member of Teamster Local 41. His work ethic and commitment to his profession were matched only by his unwavering devotion to his family. He married the love of his life, Minnie, in 1961, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

A proud veteran, Forrest served in the Navy during the Korean War, demonstrating his bravery and dedication to his country. His kind and loving nature extended beyond his immediate family; he was known for his warm smile and gentle spirit, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Forrest's life was enriched by his many hobbies and interests. He found joy in bowling, fishing, boating and spending time with family. He treasured every moment spent at the lake, where laughter and stories echoed through the years.

Above all, Forrest's proudest accomplishment was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Minnie; his son, Gregory, daughter-in-law Katherine, grandchildren, Ashley and Jacob Boone, Zachary Harrell, great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Katherine and Grayson James Boone; extended family and dear friends, all of whom carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. Though he was preceded in death by his daughter Debra Sharitz and infant son Gary Harrell, as well as his parents, Forrest and Essie Harrell and siblings, Arlo Harrell, Elsie Applegate, Inoy Ray, and Fern Baier. Forrest’s spirit will continue to thrive in the hearts of those who cherish his memory.

As we remember Forrest H. Harrell, let us hold dear the gentle soul he was—a loving family man whose legacy will forever be etched in the fabric of those he loved. His kindness, humor, and steadfastness will remain with us, guiding us through our lives as we honor him in our hearts.

Cremation is planned with services to be held at a later date.
