Betty was born November 8, 1934 to John and Irene Cagle in Leachville Arkansas. She passed from this life into glory August 2, 2013 at Vitas Hospice Care facility with family by her side. She married James L. Foster April 24, 1951 in Brinkley, Arkansas. They moved to Kansas City in 1956. They raised three daughters. She was a stay-at-home mom. Later, she worked at Hall’s Drug store and Cecil Cross Builders. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She attended Gospel Assembly Church, and later attended New Life Assembly of God in Oak Grove. She worked teaching Bible school, Sunday school and she supported the Mission programs in her church. Betty was a loving wife, wonderful mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother and an awesome cook. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Earl Cagle. She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, James Foster of Blue Springs; her daughters, Carolyn Cordell and husband Richard of Blue Springs; Pamela Williams and husband David of Grain Valley, and Lori Ann King and husband Rod of Blue Springs. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jimmy Cross and wife Tanya of Sonoma, California, Chad Cross and wife Casey of DeSoto, Illinois, Jeremy Cordell and wife Kayla of Grandville, Michigan, Amanda Scharrer and husband Dylan of Independence, Missouri; step grandchildren Lara Wade, Nathan Cordell, David Williams Jr., Lindsay Williams, Mallory King, Kristen King; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, John Cagle, Jr.; and one sister, Wilma Rock. We would like to thank Vitas Hospice, nurse Marla at Centerpoint Medical Center, and a special thank you to her in-home caregiver Michelle. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, at the Suburban Chapel. Burial to follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Noland Road Baptist Church.
