Vivian Elizabeth Frazee Smith, 89 of Butler, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2006 at the Willow Lane Nursing Center in Butler, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the chapel. Vivian was born May 16, 1917 in Independence, MO to John and Elizabeth (Stephenson) Sackman. She grew up in Independence graduating from William Chrisman High School. She had worked for a number of years in the County Clerks office for Jackson County. Vivian enjoyed reading the newspaper and working the crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Butler Restoration Branch of the Community of Christ Church. She was married to (John) Russell Frazee for 26 years until he passed away in 1967, she then married Ward Francis Smith and they were married 26 years until he passed away. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Cothern of West Bloomfield, MI; 2 sons, Ron Smith and his wife Linda of Butler, MO and Sam Smith of Lone Jack, MO; a brother, Vernon Sackman of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Clara Rice and husband Henry and Doris Lewis and her husband Harry of Independence, MO; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
