Dorothy Janice Frederick (Humphrey)

Dorothy Frederick, 81, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away December 8, 2017. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Monday, December 11, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral services will be 10am Tuesday at The Core Abundant Life Church 400 SE Persels Lee’s Summit, MO. Burial will take place in Floral Hills East Cemetery in Lee’s Summit. Dorothy was born on September 26, 1936 in Ferndale, Michigan to Lloyd and Emily (Meister) Humphrey. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, Bingo, and traveling. Dorothy was a kind, soft spoken and selfless person. She enjoyed her time with the Red Hat Ladies and participating in all of the activities. Survivors include; daughter Catherine Frankel; son Kevin Frederick; son Chris Frederick; daughter Jennifer Swearngin; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; a large extended family and many friends. Dorothy is preceded in death by: her parents, Lloyd and Emily Humphrey; husband of over 50 years, Leonard Frederick; son Leonard “Joe” Frederick; brother Robert Humphrey; grandson Nicholas Frederick; granddaughter Jordan Swearngin. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Dorothy’s memory.
