Richard W. Freedle, 45, Independence, passed away August 5, 2021, at St Joseph Medical Center after a battle with the COVID-19 Delta Variant. Richard was born June 1976 to Otis Wayne “Frito” Freedle and Kathleen Freedle Fay (Matney). Richard grew up and was a student in Grain Valley, Missouri.
Richard was known for being slightly stubborn and feisty. He loved to have a good time and had a reputation for loving hard. If Richard loved you, you understand what that means. His proudest accomplishment in his life was his children, biological and chosen. He may not have always known the words to let them know but his heart always belonged to them.
Richard was proceeded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, James and Alice Matney, paternal grandparents, Otis and Cordelia (Rice) Freedle, uncles, Charles “Chuck” Berger, Ronald Heinaman, Phillip “Sonny” Patton and cousins, Kelly Erickson and Anthony “Tony” Reek.
Richard is survived by his mother, beloved Adena Shelton, sister, Venessa Freedle, children Zachary, Dustin and Mercy Freedle, Matthew and Miracle, nephews, Jordan Freedle and Donovan Wilson, aunts Loretta, Nancy, Sharon, Irene “Rennie”, Cobi and Elizabeth “Beth,” Edna “Sue” and Debbie, uncles, James “Jimmy,” Clark, Edward “Eddie,” James “Jim” and an abundance of cousins Richard loved like siblings. In addition, Richard brought into his life a crowd of friends that became family.
