Ronald Dean Freeze, a man of family and faith, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 30, 2021. He was 86. Ron was born to Artemis Fenimore Freeze and June Nixon on October 26, 1934, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School, Ron continued his education at Graceland University. It was there he met the love of his life and best friend Pearl Marie Ward. They were married in 1955 and spent the next 65 years creating a beautiful life together. Ron joined the Navy after college and dedicated 2 years of his life proudly serving his country. He enjoyed speaking of his time as a radioman aboard the navy ship Lake Champlain.
Ron thrived on teaching youth and was a science teacher for 4 years before he started his ultimate career as a school counselor for James Bridger Middle School. He retired after 30 years.
Ron enthusiastically shared his love for the Lord and volunteered many years of his life serving the RLDS church.
Ron will be remembered for his love of nature. He had a way with animals and could call/sing the deer from the woods behind their home to eat corn from their feeder. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, nephews, and friends.
Ron was a caring, generous, and kind soul that will be missed greatly by family and friends.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Pearl; sons, Ronald Freeze Jr. (Cynthia) and Phillip Freeze (Susan); grandchildren, Alexandria Freeze-Brandon (Bryan), Milana Perry (Brian), Aaron Freeze (Ashley Lucas) Katelyn Kenwright (Matt), Brianna Freeze, and Abby Freeze; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Claire, Weston; and sister, Barbara Anthony (Richard).
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and son, Stephen Lynn Freeze.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 11th from 2-3pm at Oak Grove Restoration, 1203 N. Broadway St., Oak Grove, Mo. 64075 with a memorial service to follow at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Missouri Dept. of Conservation in Ron’s memory.
