Katelyn Grace "Katie" Friend

Katelyn Grace “Katie” Friend, a precious baby girl, gained her wings on November 1, 2020. She was 6 months old. Katie was born on April 8, 2020 to her loving parents Jennifer and Kenny Friend.
Though Katie was small she had a big personality. Waking up early everyday and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with her momma and daddy was one of her favorite things to do. Her beautiful smile, contagious laugh and those big hazel eyes were sure to light up a room wherever she went. Katie adored her siblings and was trying hard to keep up with them. She had recently mastered rolling over was working on sitting up and was quickly on her way to crawling. She will be forever loved and missed dearly by everyone that knew her.
Katie is survived by her parents; big sister Mackenzie Marie Friend; big brother Christian Isaiah Barrow; aunts Kristin Nyberg (Dustin), Jodie Mahurin (Jake), Tiffany Nyberg (Daniel) and Amy Hernandez; Uncle Jesse Nyberg; cousins Zoey, Alec, Caden, Allison and Reagan; grandparents Diane Nyberg and husband Daniel, Diedre Carr and husband Steve. She was preceded in death by her grandpa Kenny Lee Friend Sr. and great grandparents Tesley Friend, Leta Large and Melvin Nyberg.
A service will be held at 1:30pm on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence, Missouri with a graveside service to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Independence, Missouri. Katelyn’s family will greet friends and family from 12:30-1:30pm at a visitation prior to the service.
