Dr. George W. Frisbey, Jr., 93 of Independence, MO, passed away, Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Northcare Hospice House. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the KC Central Seventh Day Adventist Church 14651 Peterson Rd., Kansas City, MO 64149. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial with full military honors will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Dr. Frisbey was born July 13, 1920 in Corona, CA to George W. and Jessie Emaline (Lewis) Frisbey, Sr. He grew up in California and graduated from church schools and later from the LA College of Optometry. He was an optometrist in California from 1956-97. He was married to Twila Mae (Helland) who preceded him in death on April 19, 2009. Survivors include; 3 daughters, Colene Jackson and her husband David of Independence, MO, Eilene Vannoy and her husband John of Platte City, MO and Alison Bryant and her husband Russell of Exeter, CA; 2 sisters, Marjorie Porter of Walla Walla, WA and Doris Austin and husband David of Rio Linda, CA; one granddaughter, Monique Luisa Brown, 1 nephew and 3 nieces.
