Toli Fuimaono

Toli Fuimaono, Jr. 57 of Independence passed away Wed. Jan 31, 2007 at St. Luke�s Hospital in Kansas City, MO. A family service will be held at 6:00 pm Fri. Feb 9, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 705 W. Walnut, Independence, MO. The visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 on Sat. Feb 10, 2007 with the final service beginning at 10:30 am at the Church. Entombment will be in the Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Mr. Fuimaono was born on Nov. 29, 1949 to Toli and Feseetai (Unutoa) Fuimaono in Mapusaga Tutuila American Samoa. He had been a heavy equipment Mechanic and for the past seven years, he had been a driver for Overnight/UPS Freight. He was a certified Heavy Equipment Mechanical Engineer and was a certified CDL Driver. Toli was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed all sports, especially football. He was an excellent bowler and loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He was an easygoing person who loved life and people. Toli was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a very humble person. He and Jeanne were endowed and sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple in July of 1971. He was High Chief and SA�O of the Fuimaono families in Missouri, California, Hawaii and Samoa. The High Chief title was bestowed in 1989 by the late Maeli Fuimaono. From there, he was known as "FUI�. He was a member and High Chief of the Samoan Community of Independence. During 2004 through 2006, "FUI� served in the presidency of the Samoan Community of Independence as Vice President with Faletagoa�i and President Fuatia Taviuni. "FUI� was well respected and admired by his Samoan Community, his fellow workers at UPS Freight and everyone that knew him. He loved his culture and his people. Toli is survived by his wife Jeanne A. Fuimaono; three daughters Florentellia Cathy Augafa, Claudia Lareina Florita Fuimaono and Leilani Jeanne Mayhew. Three sons-in-law, Siaumau Augafa, Mane Toese and Kristopher Thomas Mayhew, all of Independence, MO. Eight grandchildren, Bianca Jeanne Augafa, Brandon Toli Tupua Augafa, Bryce T. Augafa, Chandler M. Toese, Carson M. Toese, Conner M. Toese, Spencer T. Mayhew and Katie E. Mayhew. A brother Lafitaga Fuimaono and six sisters; Barbie Moananu, Tuitoga Vaoifi, Lena Wily, Peiu Piutau, Vaisaulu Ilaoa and Failelei Saupo.
