Melvin Dallas Fullbright, 74 of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at his home. Services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, September 25th at Geo. C. Carson and Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Friday at the chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to North Care Hospice. Melvin was born September 2, 1930 in Flint, MI to Benjamine and Lena (Lankford) Fullbright. Mr. Fullbright retired from Yellow Freight after 40 years of service in 1992. He enjoyed spending holidays with his family at his sister�s home, ordering and purchasing new cars every 6 months, riding his motorcycle, country music and watching reruns of Hee Haw and the Grand Ole Opry. Melvin is survived by his long time friend Gladys; daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Harvey Davis of Monterey, CA, daughter Kathy Fullbright of Independence, MO, son and daughter-in-law Leonard and Libby Fullbright of Sugar Creek, MO, sons David Fullbright and Charles Fullbright both of Sugar Creek, MO, son Darryl Fullbright of Independence, MO; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Norma and Sam Battaglia of Independence, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Deborah Sue and sister and brother-in-law Betty and James Lynch.
