Albert Fuller, 85, formerly of Vancouver, WA and of Independence, MO passed away November 21, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 29, at Beacon Heights Community of Christ Congregation. Contributions may be made to the Community of Christ or the Southern Poverty Law Center. He was born February 24, 1932 in Ava, MO to Dennis A. and Erva Lorraine (Lenington) Fuller. His educational path took him to Ava High School, Graceland College, Central MO State College, University of MO-Columbia, and finally the University of Southern California where he earned his Doctorate. He was a member of Community of Christ and served as a high priest, pastor and youth leader. Al enjoyed basketball, reading, politics and travel. He was a member of Southern Christian Leadership Conference and was involved in Civil Rights. He was Dean of Students at Graceland College from 1965-1969, and spent most of his career as a psychiatric social worker. Al loved spending time with his brother Ed. He and Ed and their families often took trips together, such as to the Ozarks to see the old homestead and to Wyoming to see Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean Monahan-Fuller; brothers, Dennis and Terry Fuller; and sisters, Pansy Pitts and June Hosler. He is survived by his three children, Kathleen E. Fuller, Susan D. Sloan and Sean A. VanRiette; one brother, Edward Fuller; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
