Tommy Howard Gabehart

Tommy H. Gabehart, 60, Independence, MO passed away Sept. 17, 2006 following a short illness. A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Friday, Sept. 22, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; cremation. Visitation will be 6- 8 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the charity of your choice.
Tom was born Sept. 10, 1946 in Bloomington, IL to parents Marvin & Lois Gabehart. He lived on a farm in Towanda, IL until age 5 when his family relocated to Gladstone, MO where his father took a job as a truck driver for Knause Truck Lines.
Tom graduated from NKC High School in 1964. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he was a Missile Maintenance Technician until he was discharged in 1968. Tom�s career as a Mechanical Fabricator and welder spanned over 30 years. He was employed by Mini-Gym and ByBee Enterprises until he retired in 2004.
Tom was a friend of Bill W. for over 19 years and was very involved and devoted to working with newcomers to A.A.
Tom married Marsha Finken Buckles in February 1980 and they celebrated their 26th anniversary last year. Marsha survives of the home. He is also survived by his mother Lois Gabehart, Gladstone, MO; and sons Tim and Andy Buckles. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Gabehart.
