Roy Allen Gadfield, age 83, of Kansas City, MO went home to glory on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice following a brief heart related illness. Friends and family may call from 10:00 AM-Noon on Saturday, March 23, 2019, in the Main Sanctuary at Calvary Assembly of God in Orrville. Burial will be held at 12:30 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. A dinner for family and church family will follow at the Calvary Assembly of God Fellowship Hall at 1:00 PM.

Roy was born on October 11, 1935, in Orrville, Ohio, to the late Elmer and Isabella (Howey) Gadfield. He married Patricia A. Grimm on March 2, 1957. They were married 52 years until Patricia’s death in 2009. He moved to Kansas City to live with his daughter, Jenni, and her family shortly after Pat’s death.
Roy graduated from Orrville High School, Class of 1953. After he honorably served our country in the United States Army, Roy worked at Orrville Products, Inc. for 45 years until his retirement in 1998.
Roy was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, ducks, birds, walks in the park, listening to music, rides in the car, chocolate malts, and trains. He loved God and his family most of all and had great joy in watching his grandkids grow up over the past decade and being a part of their lives.
Surviving are two sisters Phyllis Dalessandro and husband John and Becky Yoder and husband Loyal, both of Orrville; brother-in-law Bob McKnight of Orrville; two daughters, Sharon Snavely and husband Tim of Lancaster, PA and Jennifer Weiss and husband Peter of Kansas City, MO; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Timothy and wife Kaiida, Katelyn, and Michael Snavely, and Titus, Celeste Johnson and husband Brandon, Moses, Leviticus, Ezekiel, and Shadrach Weiss. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly!
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings and some of their spouses- Margaret and John Hisey, Jane and Russel Schmidt, Bob and Grace Gadfield, Elmer and Fran Gadfield, and Joyce McKnight. He was looking forward to Heaven to be reunited with his loved ones!
