Daniel Len Gallaher, 55, of Shawnee, Kansas, died peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family, who loved him dearly. Dan loved his circle of friends and family intensely. His deep caring and his sharp wit will be greatly missed. Dan was born on December 24, 1956, in Independence, Missouri, to Jean and Grover Gallaher. He attended William Chrisman High School, and studied art and architecture at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He was married to Diane Hadley from 1979 to 2002, and they were blessed with three children: David, Annie and Andrew. He was involved in the framing industry during his professional life and owned his own company from 1993 to 2001, Designs in Framing. Dan led the Customer Service team at H&H Color Lab, and he was passionate about managing his people and solving customers’ issues with care and grace. Dan married Toni Wood on July 25, 2009, and became a father to sons Alex, Grant and Nicholas. Dan was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife Toni of the home, son Dave and wife Christy of Kansas City, daughter Annie and husband Quinton McDannald of Independence, son Andrew and wife Stephanie Gallaher of Independence, sister Vicky and husband Keith Mindrup of Independence, stepsons Alex Treaster of Kansas City, Grant and wife Brandy Treaster of Lawrence, Kan., and Nicholas Treaster of Shawnee, Kan., and his beloved grandchildren: Emma, Elli, Elyjah, Liam, Eira and Noah. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Carson-Speaks Funeral Home, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO, 64052. A celebration of his life will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
