July 20, 1937 — December 6, 2005

Richard L. Gallup, 68, of Lee�s Summit, MO, passed away, Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at St. Mary�s Hospital of Blue Springs. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2005 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday at the chapel. Richard was born July 20, 1937 in Independence, Mo and was a lifelong area resident having graduated from William Chrisman High School. He retired from Lafarge Concrete, formerly Missouri Portland Concrete, as production foreman after 40 years of service. He enjoyed to fish and spend time at his lake home in the Lake of the Ozarks. He was married to Zeffie (Gannaway) Barnes on May 10, 1977. She survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 daughters, Denise Hinton and Lisa Ash of Lee�s Summit and Christine Gallup of Independence, MO; a son, Richard D. Gallup of Independence, MO; a adopted daughter, Sara Gallup of the home; 4 step children, Eldon Barnes of Kansas City, KS, Andy Barnes of Pleasant Hill, MO, Ralph Barnes of Buffalo, MO and Linda Henderson; a brother, John Gallup of Independence; 2 sisters, Marsha Curtis of Georgia and Judy Smith of Altamont, MO; 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Laura Peacher in 2000.
