Lola Galvan, 89, of Independence, MO passed away September 13, 2016. Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm Friday, September 16, 2016 followed by visitation from 7-9pm, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Independence. Mass will be Saturday 10am September 17, 2016 at the church. Lola was born on March 18, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Francisco and Felicita Dolores Morales Ortega. She was a very social person and was always the life of the party. Lola was a very giving person to anyone in need, and enjoyed cooking for everyone. She was very generous with her time and talents. Lola was well known for being a classy lady, always dressing to the nines! Nothing gave her more pleasure that her Mexican music and soap operas. Most recently Lola enjoyed a good game of Bingo at Carmel Hills where she made her home. Her family will greatly miss her larger than life personality. Lola had been a member of St. Mary’s Church for over 70 years. She was also a member of A&R Society and the Eagles Club. Survivors include; sons Frank Galvan Jr. and Damian Galvan (Nancy); daughters Paula Lara (Gustavo), Rita Williams (Jerry), and Rebecca Foster; brothers Frank Ortega and Joe Ojeda; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; a very large extended family and many friends. Lola is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank Galvan Sr., and 5 sisters. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church.
