Dennis R. Gamble

Dennis R. Gamble, 58, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Sunday, October 9th at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15th at St. Paul�s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at church. Private burial. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul�s Lutheran Church, 17200 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 or to Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association, Denny Gamble Memorial, P.O. Box 557, Arnolds Park, IA 51331. Dennis was born June 6, 1947 in Spirit Lake, IA to Joseph and Alice (Vetter) Gamble. Mr. Gamble was a long-time member of St. Paul�s where he was currently holding the position of President of the congregation. Dennis was employed by Farmers Insurance for 10 years, most recently as a trainer of commercial agents. His passions included music, golf and hotels. In 2004, his band the Dentairs, in which Dennis played bass and sang, was inducted into the Iowa Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame. In 2003 Dennis invested in a hotel near the Country Club Plaza and has since acquired 2 more. He will be remembered for his compassion, integrity, work ethic, and character. Dennis was the rock of the family. Mr. Gamble is survived by his wife Sue (Eaton) Gamble; sons Doug Gamble and wife Amy, Derek Gamble, Justin Baumgart, Jason Baumgart; granddaughter Alice Gamble; mother Alice Gamble; brothers Raymond Gamble, Robert Gamble and wife Cathy, Marvin Gamble and wife Marcia, Dale Gamble, sister Janet Gamble-Duff and husband Francis; niece/god-daughter, Jessica Spielman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and golf buddies. Dennis was preceded in death by his father Joseph Gamble in 2004.
