Mark Ronald Gamble

Mark Ronald Gamble, 46, passed away Sunday, July 24th at his home in Blue Springs, MO. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 29th at the South Crysler Restoration Branch Church, 16101 E. Salisbury, Rd, Independence, MO 64050. Visitation will be 10-11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial to take place in Lobb Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gamble Girls Trust Fund c/o Blue Ridge Bank. Mark was born April 23, 1959, in Wichita, KS, to John Ronald and Virginia (Elefson) Gamble. In 1965, the family moved to Nashua, MO; in 1973 to Buckner, MO. He was baptized a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1967 and actively participated as a member and later as a priesthood member in that church. In 1985 he married Carla Talcott. He served as pastor for two years for the Restored Church of Jesus Christ Restoration Branch in Butler, MO. He was a gifted preacher and teacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Mark graduated from Ft. Osage High School in 1977 and attended one year, 1977-1978 at Graceland College, Lamoni, IA. In 1990 he graduated from Park University School of Nursing as an R.N. He worked 15 years in several hospitals in the metropolitan Kansas City area. Mark had many interests with a love for good music being primary. He studied piano and violin for eight years and played with the Independence Symphony. He participated in drama productions during his teen years winning acting awards. He loved the out-of-doors and was able to go on three adventure trips; Boundary Waters in Minnesota/Canada; a ten day desert survival camp in Utah; and a six day winter campout in the Rocky Mountains over Christmas vacation. He looked forward each year to the week-long family religious camping experiences. He was well read in American History. With a quick mind and ready recall facts/dates in his readings, Mark enjoyed this activity with enthusiasm. He had a great love for animals and has passed that on to his family. Mark was preceded in death by his infant son Brian. He is survived by his parents Ron and Beth Gamble of Independence, MO; wife Carla (Talcott) Gamble of Blue Springs, MO; one son Jim Gamble and wife Danielle (Dunlap) of Independence, MO; four daughters Holly, Heidi, Hannah and Havilah Gamble all of Blue Springs, MO. He leaves two sisters Michele (Gamble) Thomas of Gloucester, VA, and Pamela (Gamble) Burford of Wichita, KS; also surviving are 11 nieces and nephews, 33 first cousins and a host of other relatives and many friends.
