Bill Gann, 82 passed away in his sleep Saturday morning, August 18th, 2012. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday August 22, 2012 at Fort Osage Church of the Nazarene 19333 Hwy 24 Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the church.
Bill was born November 16, 1929 in Gentry Arkansas. He later relocated to the Kansas City area and graduated from Central High School in 1947. After graduation he served with the US Army in a MASH unit as a Medical Aidman in Korea April 1951 - April 1953. “Billy” proudly worked as a lead mechanic at TWA for 36 years where he received many awards and recognition for his accomplishments. In his free time he enjoyed his travels to 49 states in his motor home, fishing, square dancing, collecting stamps and coins. Bill was a faithful man of God, he was a charter member of his church and read his devotionals and scripture diligently.
He is survived by his wife Chrystal of the home; son, Gary Gann and wife Kellie of Homestead, FL; son, Mike Gann and April of Kansas City, MO; son, Jon Gann and wife Tammy of Lee’s Summit, MO; son, Craig Gann and wife Tammy of Gladstone, MO; stepson, James Baumgartner and wife Kathleen of Blue Springs, MO; stepdaughter, Brenda Langston and husband Steve of Independence, MO; stepson, Scott Baumgartner and wife Danielle of Independence, MO; siblings, Ruth Goldsberry, and Ray Gann both of Kansas City, MO; twenty two grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, stepdaughter, Renee Malam; and siblings, Carl Gann, Faye Roney, and Cletha Maher.
