Thomas Andrew Gann, 81 of Independence, MO passed away, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at his residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial with full military honors will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donation may be made in his name to the Lakeview Pentecostal Church 217 SE South Avenue, Blue Springs, MO 64014. Thomas was born October 25, 1932 in El Dorado Springs, MO to Charlie and Oma (Simpson) Gann. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked for 37 years as a machine mechanic for Allis Chalmers in Independence until he retired in 1994. He enjoyed mechanic work and could fix anything. He was a member of the Lakeview Pentecostal Church. He is survived by; 2 daughters, Sandy Cole and husband John of Independence, MO and Judy Beard and husband Pat of Oak Grove, MO; a brother, Danny Gann of Independence, MO; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn in 2008, 2 sisters and his daughter, Sheila Breedlove in 2001.
