With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Beatriz Ochoa Garcia (Bea Bea), age 64, on June 9, 2022. In her final moments, she was surrounded by loved ones and laid comfortably at home in Independence, Missouri. She was born in Bakersfield, California on June 21, 1957 along with her twin, Guadalupe, to Tomas and Rose Villa, who both preceded her in death. Soon after they moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she was raised in the west side. Beatriz married the love of her life, Frank Garcia, on June 30, 1974. They had three beautiful daughters, Cassandra, Jennifer, and Francine.
Beatriz lived a very full life as a devoted mother to her daughters, amazing grandma, and as a second mom to her nieces and nephews. Within our family, she provided unconditional help to the adults in need without hesitation, handed out toys to the kids, and rocked the babies to sleep. Beatriz was always the shoulder to lean on for each and every family member. As a hobby, Frank and her played in a pool league together and won many trophies. In her down time, she loved to cook homemade dishes, was highly skilled in sewing and crocheting, and enjoyed shopping online or through television networks. Beatriz was also a huge Royals and Chiefs fan and passed her time cheering them on from home with her dog, Teddy. All in all, she deeply loved her family and the events where we were all together. She instilled in every one of us values of strength and love that have helped us prosper. Beatriz will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Along with her husband Frank Garcia, she is survived by her siblings, Lillie Edmondson, and Sylvia Heskett; daughters, Cassandra Garcia, Jennifer Reuscher and her husband Shawn Reuscher, and Francine Garcia; very close nieces and nephews, Antoinette Stennis and her husband Lemont Stennis, Ponciano Garcia, and Nikki Carillo; grandchildren Joeseph Garcia, Elicia Caruthers and her husband Nicholas Caruthers, Sophia Reuscher, Josephine Garcia, and Jesse Garcia; great grandchildren Joeseph Garcia Jr., Aleigha Garcia, Liliana Garcia, and Selena DePeralta. Along with several close nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her siblings Tomas Villa Jr., Alex Villa, twin, Guadalupe Huerta, and Loretta Poole, grandchild Christopher DePeralta, nephew, Marc Garcia, and brother-in-law, Anthony Garcia.
Funeral arrangements will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 East 39th St South, Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. and the service will follow at 7 p.m. All cards, flowers, and donations are welcome.
