Doris Gard, 92, of Lee's Summit, MO passed away Friday, December 5, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21st at Colonial Hills Community of Christ Church, 3539 SW 7 Hwy, Blue Springs, MO 64014. Doris was born February 14, 1922 in Opheim, Montana as one of ten children to Webster and Lucina (Ryan) Rogers. She graduated from high school in her home town. On November 15, 1942 she married Crawford Gard and together they raised eight children. She was a loving, and hardworking homemaker who enjoyed yard work and caring for her children. Doris was a life-long member of the Community of Christ Church (formerly RLDS). She and her husband attended reunions, often baking in the camp kitchens. She is remembered as a quiet but funny woman with strong Christian values, and a keen work ethic. She is loved and will be missed. Doris leaves behind sons, Erwin Gard (Deanna) of Blue Springs, MO; Jerry Gard (Doreen Horsley) of Independence, MO; daughter, Susan Belcher (Sam) of Kirkland, WA; son, Ricky Gard (Judy) of Independence, MO; daughter, Sally Eales (David) of Paris, MO; son, Kevin Gard (Lauren Carr); son, Danny Gard (Terri) all of Blue Springs, MO; and daughter, Robin Kellinger of Lee's Summit, MO; twenty four grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren; siblings, Lloyd "Vern" Rogers of Warrensburg, MO; Ada Mae McDole of Independence, MO; and Vivian "Shirley" Foreman of Joplin, MO. She was preceded in death by siblings, Marion Rogers; Neal Rogers; Laura Belcher; Phyllis Vick; Myrtle Vick; and Earl Rogers.
