William L. "Bill" Gardner

William Lloyd Gardner, 57 of Raytown, MO passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at his residence. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052. William was a dedicated worker at the Independence Examiner and the KC Star for 40 plus years. He truly loved his work at Pro-Tire and Burgraph Tires and had several jobs on fast food. William was a very hard worker who worked 2-3 jobs a day. His world was his children and he dedicated his life to his family. He was the most loving, giving and humorous practical joker. He truly loved and cared for his wife. He is survived by his wife Tina Jones of Raytown, MO; his father Patrick Wayne Gardner of Independence, MO; a daughter, Bobbie Jo Gardner and husband Jermaine Johnson of Kansas City, MO; a step-son Phillip Lee Massey of Indiana; step- daughters, Brandy Jo Massey of North Kansas City, MO and Candy Anna Massey of Kansas City, MO; 3 grandchildren, Johnathan Vaughn, Corrado Morais and Jermaine Johnson, Jr. of Kansas City, MO; a brother, Kenneth Gardner and wife Patty of Olathe, KS. He was preceded in death by his mother Norma Jean Gardner; step-mother Ramona Ray Stewart; 2 sisters, Yvonne Gail Howell and Patricia Jean Duley; brother David Mickel Gardner; a niece Jessica Jessen Gardner and a great-niece Kendra Lorraine Duley.
