Henry Edward Garrett, Sr.
Henry Edward Garrett, Sr., of Independence, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022. He was 88 years of age.
Henry was born on July 21, 1933, in Warsaw, Missouri, the son of Charles and Gertrude (Davio) Garrett, one of twelve children.
Henry married the love of his life Williametta “Billy” Loucks, and from their union came 6 children. He was an extremely hard worker, a jack of all trades. He was a true handy man. Henry was a father to everyone, always there to help those in need, very caring, loving, and a jokester. He loved to people watch and be where everyone was. Henry thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and spending time fishing, camping, and being in nature. Most of all, Henry loved his family. He will be very deeply missed.
Henry is survived by his children, Henry (Bonita) Garrett, Jr., Victor (Nellie) Garrett, Anna Graham, Rose Friend, Dorinda (Gary) Basinger, Crystal Burch; siblings, Katherine Dietzman, Lizzabelle Kranke, Hazel Moore, Emma Collister, Billy (Pat) Garrett; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Williametta “Billy” Garrett; parents, Charles and Gertrude Garrett; siblings, Robert Garrett, Charles Garrett, Ruby Esser, Bonita Ryan, Margurette Kinyon, and Albert Garrett.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 27 at Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64050. Family will greet guests between the hours of 1-2 pm. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm. Henry will be laid to rest in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, Mo.
