Garrett Dale McGuirt

June 10, 2004 — June 25, 2024

Independence

Garrett Dale McGuirt, fondly known as "KC R1," bid farewell to this world tragically on June 25, 2024. He was born on June 10, 2004, in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Garrett led a fulfilling life marked by dedication and hard work. He worked for Hiland Dairy and was a proud member of the Local Teamster 41 union and could be referred to as “The Milk Man”. His commitment to his family, friends, motorcycles, and career was evident to all.

Garrett was a man of many interests and talents. He graduated from Truman High School with the class of 2022. In his free time, he rode his bike, he indulged in gaming on both PlayStation and PC’s, enjoyed deer hunting and when that time of year came around you could rest assured, he would be headed to Arkansas, to Papa and Nanas, he was fond of the outdoors and would cherish moments spent boating at the lake. Mostly Garrett loved riding, you could find him with friends and family alike, any spare time he would have.

Those close to Garrett will remember him for his great personality - he possessed a unique blend of humor, love, and protectiveness towards his family. His presence brought light into the lives of those around him. He was the jokester and the protector.

Garrett's memory will forever be cherished by his grieving family. Garrett is survived by his parents, April of the home and step father Jason Schuler; siblings, Katelyn Schuler and Kierstin Schuler; girlfriend, Alysin Cowan and baby Traci; best friends, Jace Rabich, Kaden Rabich and Sam Wiedel; uncles, Kevin (Katie) McGuirt, Sean Schuler, Jonathan North; grandparents, Milton and Tracy McGuirt (papa and nana), David and Debbie North (Pa and Mamaw), Gerald Schuler (Poppy); great grandparents, LaVaun Hickman, Dorsey and Milton McGuirt; he rode with KC Ghost Crew, they were his 2nd Family. He is also survived by extended family and dear friends; Daryle (Kelsae) Webster. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, LaVern and Yvonne Nourse; his uncle Nathan McGuirt; and Turkey, Garrett’s fur baby.

A Visitation in honor of Garrett's life will be held on July 2, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Pointe Church in Lee's Summit. Following this, a Funeral Service will take place at the same location at 1:00 PM. The final tribute will be paid at Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence during the Graveside Service directly following his Funeral Services.

For those planning to ride please meet at Speaks at 8:30am for line up, safety, and prayer. Garrett asked for a big biker send off, and let's give it to him.
