Carol LaRue Garska, 88, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023. A visitation will be held from 9:00-9:30am, Monday January 9th with a service following at 9:30am, both at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 700 NE Chipman Rd; Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. A graveside service for the family will follow at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery.
Carol was born on January 8, 1934, in Kearney, Nebraska to Fred and Ann (Rulhe) Garska. After attending college, Carol proudly served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He had a successful career within Organon Pharmaceuticals spanning over 30 years, where he retired as District Manager. He attended St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lee’s Summit. Carol was a devoted MU fan, loved fishing and golfing, but nothing compared to spending time with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Kathy; his children, Brenda (Mark) Kaiser, Doug (Candy) Garska, Brad (Julie) Garska, Justine Saultz, Bob (Linda) Saultz, and Melanie (Aaron) Thomas; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; as well as, his granddaughter, Lauren Ashley.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
