Gary Lee Walker

Raytown, Missouri

 

Gary Lee Walker, 60, of Raytown Missouri, peacefully passed away on June 18th, 2023, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

 

Gary graduated from Truman High School then went on to graduate Barber College, working in his parents' Barber Shop, Jerry's Hairstyling. He also worked as a Security Officer at Research Hospital in Kansas City MO for 19 years then moved to Unity Village until he retired in 2020.

 

Gary was involved with The Boy Scouts of America, Tribe of Mic-o-say and served as a troop leader for his son's troop. He enjoyed going to the Gun Range for target practice and sport, he was an avid reader and loved Stephen King and World War Il books. He loved watching all genres of movies. Gary loved animals, especially his 4 cats! He also really enjoyed bowling and always told the story of how he beat Pro bowler, Pete Weber, in a tournament.

 

Those who knew Gary were well aware of his zest for life and his ornery ways! He was one of a kind and had the biggest heart, always willing to help others. He had a strong love for the Lord and enjoyed studying and learning about Christ through fellowship at Connection Point Church. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 was one of his favorite passages.

 

Gary will be deeply missed and always remembered. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marvin and Edith Walker, his maternal grandparents, Vern and Mary Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Renee Walker, his parents Jerry and Sharon Walker, sister — Tracee Ryan, son - Spencer Walker, daughter — Melanie Walker, niece — Rebekka Ryan, nephews Dr Joshua Ryan and Kaleb Wadsworth.

 

Gary requested a Celebration of Life to be held in his honor. The family will be welcoming visitors to join us at Connection Point Church 10500 E State Route 350 Raytown MO 64138 on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.
