Daniel Gaylord

Daniel E. Gaylord, 42, of Blue Springs, MO passed away October 26, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born March 31, 1970 in Independence, MO to Daniel W. and Judy Gaylord. Danny attended Holy Family and St. John LaLande School, where he played basketball and was a boy scout. Dan graduated from Arch Bishop O’Hara High School, then attended UMKC, Penn Valley Community College, and the University of Missouri. While in college, Dan was an editor for the Scout Newspaper, studied Japanese, and graduated with a Political Science degree. Dan was a Vice-President of Operations for Gaylord Family Enterprises. Dan was a member of St. John LaLande Catholic Church, where he assisted with religious education and coached and scored basketball. He is survived by his wife of 18 years and best friend of 26 years, Kristin (McGovern) Gaylord; two children, Abigail and Seth Gaylord; parents, Daniel and Judy Gaylord; three brothers, Jeffrey, Joe and Peter Gaylord; one sister, Mary LaMaster; and nieces and nephew, Kaylin, Emily and Garrett. A memorial visitation will take place from 9-11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass on Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. John LaLande Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being set up for Dan’s two children.
