David Michael "Mike" Gentry

Michael Gentry of Independence, Missouri passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Centerpoint Hospital. He was 57 years old. Mike was born May 16, 1964 in Waukegan, Illinois to Dave and Sandra Gentry (Stupar) and was one of four children.
On December 15, 1984 Mike married the love of his life, Dana (Ware) Gentry in Independence, Missouri and to this strong blessed union, a beloved son was born, Jeremy Gentry. Mike was a hard worker with landscaping, wood working, automotive repair and maintenance jobs. He was truly the jack of all trades. Mike had a strong work ethic. His main priority was the Lord Jesus Christ, his family and helping others. He always put others before himself and always did anything and everything for his family, friends and neighbors. It didn’t matter what time it was, day or night Mike was always there for his family. Above all else though Mike had a great love for the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a wonderful, caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend who was always giving and was a selfless man. He enjoyed music, hunting, fishing and working in the yard planting and watching wildlife. He was very particular and everything he did looked great! He was a fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football. Mike was dearly loved by his family and many friends, he will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his wife of 37 beautiful, blessed years, Dana Gentry; his son, Jeremy Gentry (Michelle); 3 grandchildren, Triton, Brayden and Brinley Gentry; 3 sisters, Cindi (Gentry) Black, Robin Przekop, Melody Franks and many nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Sandra Gentry.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 am on June 4, 2022 at Sycamore Hills Baptist. (15200 E 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055)
