Helen M. George

Helen M. George, 94, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, September 19th at Independence Manor Care Center. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28th at Woodlawn Cemetery. Helen was born June 7, 1911 in Independence, MO to B. Frank and Mary C. (Munday) Soapes. She was a life-long resident of the area and attended Central Missouri State College, Warrensburg and the University of Colorado, Boulder. Mrs. George taught at various times in the Independence Public School System and was a member of the First Christian Church. Helen was preceded in death by her husband James Carl George in 1984. She is survived by her nephew Thomas F. Soapes of Alexandria, VA.
