Jack Lee George, 63 of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, September 30, 2013 at his residence. Cremation is planned with a memorial gathering to be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Jack was born November 25, 1949 in Independence, MO to Jack E. and Mary (Loncarvic) George and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a parts clerk for Jack Cooper Transport for a number of years before he retired in 2012. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam. He is survived by; his mother Mary George of Independence, MO; a brother, Dan George of Independence, MO; a niece Tracey Boyle of Warrensburg, MO and Dannie L. George of Independence, MO.
