Thomas E. George, 75, Independence, Mo. died April 12, 2005 at his home. A Celebration of Tom�s Life will be held during visitation 6 - 8 pm, Friday, April 15, 2005 at the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, 1701 Salem Drive, Indep., Mo. Cremation. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society. Tom was born Feb. 12, 1930 in Dixon, Mo. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Tom worked for the Independence Power & Light Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #53, VFW #3974, American Legion Post #499, the Ararat Shrine, Scottish Rite, and Eagles #385. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Edith Roam. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Dixie L. George, of the home; sister Donna Larson, Pekin, IL; three nieces and five nephews.
